I'm not quite certain here of your question.  As far as the police not questioning you,  they don't have to in order to place you under arrest.  Here especially since there was no question but that the accuser was credible (the store may have even had you on tape).  There is no constitutional right to be questioned.   

You will be able to give your side of the story in court.  Which means since you are now facing criminal charges you should get yourself an attorney to represent you.  If convicted you will be left with a criminal record.
