I offer my condolences to you. If you wish to find out if your father had life insurance, you will need to get into simple investigation mode. You need to see if you can look in your father's house for such evidence of life insurance (bills, account numbers or transactions for the life insurance). If that fails and you have access to his bank account(s) as executor or trustee, then you can have the bank help you search for life insurance or insurance type transactions to see if there is a transaction charge (monthly, quarterly, yearly, bi-annually) for a life insurance company or specific policy number. If your father was employed at the time of his passing, chances are his employer may have information for you.
