Does my employer need my permission to use my SS number and personal information to open a business credit card?

They said that they do not need my permission to give out my SSN but I think they do.

If a personal business credit card is being opened for you by your employer, very well providing your own social secuirty number could be a requirement for getting such a business credit card issued to you. I suggest that you have a meeting with your employer and the representative of the credit card company to see why your social security number is needed.

One option is to open up the credit card in the employer's name with your name on it where the employer would be responsible for receiving the monthly statements and paying them. That way you do not need to give out your social security number most likely.
