The most important thing this depends on is what the restraining order says. If it is a no-contact order, that was issued on a domestic violence complaint you filed, then he is probably free to move wherever he wants, as long as it's nowhere near you.  If he has primary physical custody of your daughter, though, the restraining order may not matter, because in most states a child cannot be relocated out of state without the other parent's permission or a court order.

For advice you can rely on, you need to give an attorney in your area a copy of the restraining order, and all the other facts of the case.  One place to find a lawyer who can help you is our website, http://attorneypages.com
