Parole and Medical Marijuana

My husband saw his prison counselor to make parole plans. He told me that parole will come to check out the house.Do they really come to the residence and inspect? What are they looking for?My brother stays in a back house. He has a medical marijuana license for bad arthritis. He has smoking devises and a plant growing in the back yard. Will parole not allow my husband to stay here because of this?

When someone is on parole, the parole officer can and will check out where the parolee is living to make sure that the parolee is not engaging in any illegal behavior and staying on a legal path.

You need to inform the parole officer about your brother's medical situation and the fact that he has a medical marijuana license. If not, it may appear as if there is marijuana being grown and smoked illegally on the premises.

Whether parole will ultimately allow your husband to stay there is up to them.
