If my ex is filing for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, is he still going to have to pay back child support and what do I need to do?

Yes, back child support is non dischargable - if he files a 13 he you should be listed as a creditor - you should make sure you are in the plan (unless you have another agreement) and you should file a proof of claim in the bankruptcy.  Please note this answer applies only to NYS
