Am I liable to pay for $2000 worth of parts that a boat dealer damaged on my engine?
My boat dealer’s repair shop advised that my outboard needed a repair that require the head come off of the engine. I okayed the repair but they destroyed the head and the exhaust manifold getting it apart.

You are not liable for the cost of the parts the boat dealer damaged.
The boat dealer is liable for negligence. Negligence is the failure to exercise due care (that degree of care that a reasonable boat dealer would have exercised under the same or similar circumstances to prevent foreseeable harm).
Your damages (monetary compensation you are seeking in your lawsuit for negligence against the boat dealer) would be the cost of repairs to your boat. You may be able to file your lawsuit in Small Claims Court. In addition to the cost of repairs to your boat, your damages should also include court costs which would be the court filing fee and process server fee.
