If I’m a military wifeand my husband has ordersso now I’m left being the primary caregiver for our child, can I get my hours changed at work?

I need to work different hours than what I was hired for. I work 9-6 pm now and need to work 8-5 pm. Can they terminate me? They are not willing to work with me on the shift. Is there and military law in place for us wives?

Unfortunately no--the law does not require employers to accomodate shift changes for military spouses; the private employer is not required to indirectly subsidize or support military service in this way, by changing how it does busines or needs to do business for the spouses of military personnel. One can make a good argument that this is unfair and that private employers should have to support the military, but the law does not at present require that.
