If I worked 1 day at a temp agency but they don’t want to pay me, what can I do?

I worked 1 day for a temp agency almost 2 weeks ago. The manager wanted me to work the whole week even though I told her that I didn’t like the job. She told me to finish the week so I could get paid for the week but I told her I really didn’t like it so I wasn’t going to finish the week. Now she is mad and she doesnt want to pay me for the day I worked.

You must be paid for the work you did, at the agreed-upon wage or rate; the fact that you did not work the entire week is not legal grounds to not pay you. Unfortunately, to secure your payment, if the agency will not pay voluntarily, you will have to sue them for the money, which may or may not be worth it, depending on how much is at stake. You would look to sue in small claims court, where you can act as your own attorney and where the filing fees are typically $25 - $50.
