What to do if I work for a bowling ally and it hired my now wife when we were engaged but now that we’re married they fired her?

My wife got fired from the place where we work because we got married. When they hired her they new we were engaged. Do we have any recourse? They said that they don’t allow best friends or a husband and wife to work in the same place. However, they are other relted people working here. Nowhere is it written that it was against the rules not even on the applicat ion.Does she have a case?

If she is an employee at will - which most employees are - then she can be fired at any time and for any reason unless you can prove that she is in some way being singled out or discriminated upon. I would go and speak with an attorney in your area on the matter.  Good luck.
