While I am unsure what you mean by "having trouble" you should be aware that if you do collect an inheritance while incarcerated some states will require that you reimburse them for the cost of incarceration. If the executor knows where you are you should not be having trouble. But the money may go in to an inmate trust account and not to you directly.
