If I added my new wife to house deed and then found out she has terminal cancer, will I have to split the house with her kids after she is gone?

I added my new wife to my homesteaded house deed and then found out that she has terminal cancer. Hopefully that doesn’t sound insensitive but I just hate to think I’m forced out it is my retirement home.

A quitclaim deed will release your wife's entire right, title and interest in the property to you.
The quitclaim deed is signed in the presence of a notary. After signing, the quitclaim deed becomes effective upon being recorded (filed with the County Recorder's office).
