Do I have a claim

Terminated after 26 years. Gave me a paper for reduction in force, 401k

papers, and my Christmas fund check. They let me work almost the whole day

and escorted me off the premises. They are still workers because they were

already short in my department but they let me go. Everybody was shocked

because they didn’t have a reason for why they fired me. I was told that I was suppose to have gotten a service check but I didn’t receive one.

Unless your termination was the result of legally actionable discrimination (i.e. based on your race, religion, nationality, gender, age (over 40), disability, etc., then it was legal. The fact is that not all workers need be treated the same or even fairly. Accordingly, unless you had protection under the terms of an employment contract or union agreement it was legal.
