If your insurance company agreed to fix your car, then the repairs must be complete and to your satisfaction. If the repair shop was referred to you by the insurance company, or if they are an “approved shop” for your company there should also be some sort of warranty or guarantee of the repairs. You should contact your adjuster and explain the problems with the car. Also tell them the repair shop is unable to fix the car and ask for permission to take it to another shop.

Again, if there is an approved shop other than the one you used, you will probably be sent to them since the dealership will often charge a much higher repair rate than other shops. However, if there is no body shop or local mechanic that can fix the car, you may be sent to the dealership. The adjuster should be willing to work with you on this since it is obvious the car is not properly repaired at this time.

If you were referred to the repair shop by your insurance company, and they are an approved shop for your insurance, you should have had a warranty or guarantee of the repairs. The adjuster should be willing to work with you on these repairs as well. However, you may want to contact your insurance company and explain the situation.

Dealing with the hassle of trying to fix your car through multiple body shops, and having to move your car from one shop to another, isn’t fun. But it’s worth the effort. At the end of the day, you’ll be glad your car was fixed to your satisfaction, and having a reliable vehicle will give you peace of mind.
