Did your treatment constitute some form of legally actionable discrimination (i.e. was it based on your age (over 40), disability, race, religion, etc.)? Did you have a union agreement or employment contract that prohibited this action? If not, then you former company had the right to set the conditions of your employment (or continued employment) much as it saw fit. This is known as "at will" work.
