If the age of consent in my state is 16, can any person over the age of 18 engage in sexual activity with a 16 or 17 year old?

Once a person reaches 16 in SC, they are legally allowed to engage in sexual relations with anyone, regardless of the other person's age. However, if the "16 year old" turns out to be younger than 16, then does make a difference. So just be sure who you are getting involved with.
