Will I need an attorney for fraud charges that are a mistake or can I explain to a judge myself?

I was contacted by a locating
service today regarding a fraud
case against me. At first I thought
it had to be a scam of some sort
because I haven’t done anything.
Until I told my mother about it and
she said ‘I wonder if it’s those
charges on my bank account.’ My
mother authorized the use of her
bank card for me to order some
things a while ago and I paid her
for them. Well when the charges
came out my mother, being 72 years
old, forgot she let me use her card
and filed fraud on all my charges.
I feel pretty certain that is what
this is all about. Will I need an
attorney for this? And what will
happen to my mother?
Thank you

It sounds s if you should have an attorney run interference for you here.  Your Mother will have to sign affidavits that she authorized you to make the purchases and forgot that she did, or something to that affect.  I would not call them back.  Have the lawyer do it.  Good luck.
