When publishing books under an LLC is a DBA license necessary for the author’s pen name?

I started a publishing co. (LLC) under which I plan to publish novels. Do I also need to file a DBA for my pen name, or is the LLC sufficient?

If you are just writing the books under pen name, then you are not "doing business as" that name--you are simply writing under it. There is no requirement to register a pen name as a d/b/a if all the business is actually transacted under an LLC and/or your real name (e.g. if the LLC pays you, it pays to your real name).
