Unless your landlord insists that your child who is now 18 years of age be added to your lease, you are under no obligation to do so. However, one caveat is that if your child turns 18 years of age while in high school and your landlord wants the child on the lease, you are not obligated to have him or her on it as a tenant pending attendance in high school.
