Whats the financial
If a spouse is diagnosed with a severe medical condition, and the parties divorce prior to medical expenses transplant, hospital stay, ER visits, etc. What financial responsibility does the non-sick ex-spouse have for medical/hospital bills? Does divorce remove the non-sick party from the financial obligations of medical care?

The non-sick ex-spouse would only be liable for 1) medical expenses incurred (even if not billed yet) while the two were still married; or 2) any expenses where he or she agreed in writing to be responsible or pay them.
