As a practical matter in order to have your probation administered and overseen by a probation department that is not in the county and state where you were convicted of a crim but transferred to another county's probation department where you reside, you need to consult with a criminal defense attorney to file a petition with the court in the matter where you were convicted of the crime presently subject to probation.

Notice to the district attorney's office and the current probation department (as well as the desired probation department) must be given in writing well before the hearing. Your petition needs to set forth in detail specifics for the desired request.
