Technically the charge would probably be driving without a license.  According to the Tennessee Department of Safety a conviction for driving without being licensed is a Class B misdemeanor. The penalty is a fine up to $500 and/or 6 months in jail. This is under Tennessee Code section 55-50-301, that says that a party is required to have a valid license to drive a motor vehicle. Tennessee Law section 55-50-603 then lists the penalty as a Class B misdemeanor. I would get some legal help here on this.  A good attorney may be able to use the time served to an advantage for you and be able to whittle down the fine as well.  Learn from this mistake.  Good luck.
