What is the date my divorce was final?

I am trying to file taxes and it asks my marital status on December 31st of 2018. The judge ordered, signed, granted my divorce in November 2018. The decree was not signed and in place until January of 2019. How should I file my taxes? Was I divorced in November 2018 when the judge made his findings and granted divorce, or in January 2019 when the divorce decree was drawn up and signed? Do I file married filing separate or single?

It was the signing of the final decree that made the divorce final: the date for judgments, orders, and decrees is when they are finalized and signed. If the decree was not "signed and in place until January of this year," you were married for all of 2018.
