What is shock probation?

Husband sentenced to 18 months for attempted felonious assault. He served all but 97 days, was brought back to court for judicial release hearing and the judge ordered him to complete a class on 7/25. Then on 7/29, the term shock probation showed up on docket. What does that mean?

According to Ohio Legal Services, shock probation is an old term but it just when the judge modifies an eligible offender's sentence by granting judicial release before their sentence is up, and by allowing the offender to be placed in a boot camp treatment or furlough program.
