What happens if a past company that worked for accused me of misusing my company credit card?

I never had a signed contract with the company or guidelines on how the card should be used. Can they file criminal charges still?

Even without a signed contract regarding the credit card or guidelines on its use, a company credit card may still only be used for legitimate company purposes; there's no need to spell that out in detail, because it's understood, just as its understood that an employee may not take home an office computer for his own use, may not ship goods for his own home-based business using the office postage meter, may not let his friends place long distance calls on the company phone, etc. If you used the company card for improper purposes, such as for your own benefit, legal action may be taken against you.
