My employment is at will. I don’t know what that means.

The phrase "at will" employment means that the employer and the employee have equal rights to end the employment at any time, so neither is obligated to give notice or cause for termination. Basically, a company can sethte condtions of th workolace much as it aees fit (absent some form of legally actionable discrimination). In NE, to be taken out of at will" status, you would need to have rights that are spelled out in either a union agreemnt or employment contract (including oral and/or implied).
