The conditions of probation govern what is or is not considered a violation. Being charged with a crime is, I am sure, a conditoon here.  You friend needs an attorney whether or not the violation was deliberate or unknowing. A violation results in revocation of probation and then the original sentence will go in to effect.  Have her get help asap.

If your friend is convicted of violating her probation by possessing a controlled substance, the terms of her suspended sentence could very well be revoked where she could end up in jail. I suggest she consult with a competent criminal defense attorney in her locality. One on attorneypages.com could be found.
