What charges may I be looking at for a minor fight?

I was involved in a minor altercation. I got up to walk away and the other male

kicked at me and tried to trip me from a seated to position. I didn’t know what

he may do next, so I got him 3 times. I didn’t draw any blood.

If you are charged with assault and battery, you should assert self defense as your defense to those charges because you used reasonable non-deadly force to defend yourself.
Assault and battery are both criminal and civil (lawsuit). Criminal and civil cases proceed separately.
