You really should consult with a criminal law attorney directly about this (and your husband should get his own attoreny as well). Giving a false statement to the police is a chargeable offense. That having been said, even if you renounce your statement, if there is enough other evidence to support a conviction the prosecutor can choose to continue with the case.
