What can I do about a possession of marijuana and paraphernalia charge?

My husband and I were driving and were fighting, so I hopped out of the car at a red light and started walking away. My husband yelled something obscene to me and a cop overheard and pulled him over right then and there. The cop said what he yelled was the reason he pulled him over. They would not let me get in the vehicle. While they were talking to my husband, they asked him if there was any illegal substances in the car. He said no but they threatened a search with a K9, so he gave them the small amount of weed and my pipe. They asked if it was mine and I said yes. What can Ido? Should I speak with a criminal law attorney? In Twin Falls County, ID.

If you have been charged with the possession of a controlled substance, you should consult with a criminal defense attorney in that a conviction could result in a fine, jail, community service, and a criminal record.

If this is your first brush with the law, the court, if you are convicted of the charge may just fine you and place you on probation with no jail. Good luck.
