What are the chances that my misdemeanor can be changed into an infraction?
What are the common outcomes of these types of cases? I was given a ticket marked as a misdemeanor for giving a false ID. The ID was of another person who was 21 (I am 18). I did not purchase alcohol with it and the club I was entering was 18 and over. A misdemeanor will ruin my life and my chances of getting into med school. I am scared beyond belief.

Please calm down. Really. You are going to need to tell your parents and get yourself a lawyer for this. If the court sees that you are supported by family and are sorry for what happened you will most likely be offered a deal for a first offense. Now, the DA must prove intent and depending on what section of the penal code you are charged under, proving that could also be different. No one can tell you for sure that the Judge will take a plea but being prepared and having support is a place to start. Good luck.
