I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area.  A will speaks at the time of death.  Therefore, the will that is in place at the time of death controls so long as it was validly executed and the person making the will was legally competent (a very low standard).  Therefore, if one will is made and then another will is made, the 2nd will shall controll.  I suggest that you bring the 1st will to the lawyer's attention who is drafting the second will.
