What should I do if the manager of the temp agency that I worked for told my family how I was fired from my position without my permission?

Although generally not good practice on behalf of the manager and it may in fact violate their company policy, the manager may not be a violation of any laws making his or her acts illegal.  I say that generally because state law may differ and you could have rights only a lawyer in your area would know.  Now, if the manager is engaging in defamation  - libel (written) and slander (oral) - statements that are just untrue and exposes you to some sort or hatred or ridicule, etc. (each state has its own definition), then you may have a case.  Speak with some one in your area.  Good luck.
