Stole Vehicle

We had a vehicle stolen 2 months ago. The vehicle was recovered but was totalled. The insurance company is “investigating” the vehicle. How long do I need to allow this to go on? The lein holder for the vehicle is continuously calling and I have no information to tell them as the Damage Specialist with my insurance company will not return my phone calls.

An insurance company needs a reasonable amount of time to do its investigation.  Since your vehicle was stolen, they need to get information on the thief and determine whether or not they can pursue him or her to get their money back after they pay you and/or your lienholder.  Two months is not very long.  I would refer the lienholder to the adjuster in charge of the claim/investigation.  Give it another month.  If you don't hear anything, contact the adjuster, the adjuster's supervisor, and if you still don't get anywhere, the dept. of insurance in your state.
