What will happen if my son was arrested for 2 DUI’s in 2 different counties?

My son was arrested for a DUI (knocked down to reckless driving) in one county, then was arrested again for another DUI the night before his first court date. How will the second county handle that?

Under the laws of all states in this country, the first DUI charge as you have written is now a reckless driving charge leaving for all practical purposes one DUI pending in two different counties in your state.

If convicted, his driving privileges will be suspended, he will be fined, possibly jailed, have his insurance rates for driving an auto increase dramatically, and be ordered to attend classes concerning the dangers of drinking and driving. Likewise, he will probably have a large attorney's fee bill for the two charges in two different counties.
