What to do if someone obtained a judgement against my husband and has put a lien on our joint checking account that was set up as a tenancy by the entirety?

They took everything out of the account. What can we do?

If you have time you can serve and file a claim of exemption as to the joint tenancy account with the court. The problem is that under the laws of most states in this country joint tenancy accounts where one judgment debtor is listed as an owner are subject to levy in their entirety.

I suggest that you consult with a consumer law attorney for further assistance as to your matter.
