someone hit my car on private property and had no insurance what do i do

I was parked and getting ready to exit my vehicle when this lady flew into the
parking space next to me taking my driver door off. the police stated that it was
private property and there was nothing they could do.
I went inside the store and the store manager told me that it was not private
property as well as the security guard

If you have uninsured motorist coverage, you can file an uninsured motorist claim with your insurance company for the property damage (cost of repairs) to your car.
If you don't have uninsured motorist coverage, your only recourse is to sue the at-fault party for negligence.
