Should I plead no contest to “operating an uninsured vehicle”?

I was pulled over for not having break lights and I couldn’t provide proof of insurance because I had none at the time. On the day I received my citation I  purchased insurance. I have court in 3 days.

If you were cited for operating a motor vehicle without the required insurance for the vehicle and you, you would be within your rights to plead "no contest" to the charge which for all intents and purposes is a guilty plea in the criminal matter, but has no conclusive effect in a possible civil action arising from the incident you were cited/arrested for.

Be prepared to attend the upcoming hearing with proof ofinsurance. If you show evidence of an insurance policy in place to the judge, he or she may impose a less severe penalty for the offense than what could be placed under the sentencing laws for what you were charged with.

Good luck.
