Should I get a lawyer if I was in a car accident and as taken by ambulance to the ER?

The hospital said that I am OK. I have had back surgeries in the past. I am not sure if my car is totaled.

I am sorry to hear about your accident.  If you are planning to make a personal injury claim for your accident and the medical care you received as a result of the accident, I strongly suggest you contact a personal injury attorney in your area.  These cases can be time consuming and difficult to handle on your own.  There are deadlines and laws that you must comply with.  The insurance company is going to have a professional on their side and that person's job is going to be to find a way to pay you as little as possible.  You should have a professional on your side too.  Most personal injury attorneys offer free first time consultations and work on a contingency fee, meaning they do not collect a fee until your case is resolved and you realize recovery.
