What to do if our small dog was attacked by a neighbor’s Great Dane in our yard?
The neighbor was walking his pets with no leash; we live in a county with no leash laws. My animal has $5,000 worth of vet bills and lost a kidney. Can I get some reimbursement from the owner or from my homeowner’s insurer?

I woulod give your neighbor the $5,000 veterinarian bill and ask that they or their insurance carrier pay the amount promptly. If not, then your legal recourse seemingly will be in the small claims court forum for you to get your bill reimbursed.
