If my car was gifted to me by my mother and grandmother and is in my mom’s name, can she be take it away from me?

I’m 18 and want to move out in a few months, even though it’s the last thing my mom intends to let me do. After I graduate next month I’ll be making $700 a week and plan to move in with 3 friends living in a small house; money isn’t the problem here. My car is my daily driver for work. I was told that I could keep it no matter what but it’s in her name for insurance reasons. I just want to know if even if she can keep the car? She has her own and this one is “mine”. Will I be able to just take it when I leave?

If it's in her name for *any* purposes, it's not your car--it's hers. She may be allowing you to use it, but since ownership or title was never transfered to you, it still belongs to her--and she would have the right to "take it back," or, more accurately (since it's still hers; i.e. she doesn't need to "take it back") tell you to stop using it.
