What to do about a divorce?

My wife and I have been having problems since she came to this country. She is an immigrant from Jamaica and I would like to go my own way. We have been married 3 years but she came to the US less than 2 years ago. We are approaching the 2 year immigration interview and have been going through many issues and I would like to get a divorce and go my way. But I fear that she will try to make my life miserable as she has already in the past and put a restraining order against me in my own home. Do you know if I leave if I would be legally responsible for any expenses due to me leaving?

Under the laws of all states in this country you could possibly be responsible for spousal support in the event of a divorce. I suggest that you immediately consult with a family law attorney to give you the appropriate guidance that you will need during this troubling time and what legal recourse you may have.
