I am so sorry for your loss. I would STRONGLY suggest that you seek help from an attorney in your area as soon as you can. It is very hard to tell what the exact interest your step mother has here. A life estate in a home generally means that the life tenant can NOT sell it with out the consent of the "remaindermen" - those who get it after the life tenant dies. So how this Will is written will carry serious weight here. Please get help. Good luck.
