What is the effect of a lien regarding condemnation?

My sister is executor to my deceased parent’s property. Against both mine and my brother’s urging, she has done nothing with the property for over 10 years. Now the city wants to condemn it and tear it down, placing a lein for the destruction against the property. However, my husband and I have just purchased a house in another state. Is it possible if the lein exceeds the property, they will come after my house?

Under the laws of all states in this country if the municipality where your deceased parents' property is located has a lien placed on it for costs in tearing it down the lien solely attached to the property and nothing else.

I suggest that all owers of the property you are writing about have a meeting about the property and try and resolve the issue before additional costs of time and money are incurred by you.
