How did she enter the US? Was it lawfully or unlawfully? If it was unlawfully, under the current immigration laws, there is not much she can do to legalize her status. If she entered lawfully but overstayed, then she is eligible for adjustment of status through a child who is a US citizen and over the age of 21.
