What to do if my my landlord took me off the lease without my consent?

My girlfriend and I broke up. I got a new place but still lived at the old place a few days a week. The landlord took me off the lease.

Okay so here are the general rules: the lease is a contract and the terms of the contract are binding on the parties that signed them.  Now, one of the parties to the lease can not alter the terms by them selves ("unilaterally") and so what he did was the breach the lease.  But may I ask: why are you upset here?  If the landlord took you off the lease voluntarily you are no longer liable for paying the rent. And since you got a new place wouldn't that make you happy? Also, I would get some thing in writing showing that you are no longer liable.  Good luck.
