You can sue your insurance carrier for negligence.  Negligence is the failure to exercise due care (that degree of care that a reasonable insurance carrier would have exercised under the same or similar circumstances to prevent foreseeable harm).
You should also contact the insurance commissioner in your state to file a complaint against your insurance company.
