What are my husband’s rights if he was injured at work?
My husband got injured on his job, so they sent him to a company doctor that did absolutely nothing for him. He just tapped him on the knee and ankle and basically told him to suck up the pain. I finally had to take him to the emergency room so he could get some help. However, the doctor got mad and discharged him and set up an FCE for him, but his neck, arm and back have not been checked out. He is also having pain that goes down his leg and into his groin area. I just need to know, does he need to have an second opinion before he has the FCE done.

Has your husband claimed long term disability through his employer's workers compensation carrier benefits? Functional Capacity Evaluations are VERY different from medical examinations and if he has not even been completely examined or evaluated it may not be the time for same. I would speak with a workers compensation attorney as soon as possible and I would seek the medical treatment you need asap. It was not prudent for the MD in the hospital to discharge him before full evaluation and to file for an FCE. Get help. Good luck.
