Do unsigned papers carry any weight in court?
My grandfather was killed in a car crash a few years ago. We have just learned that in weeks prior to his untimely death, he had his lawyer draw up papers willing an apartment complex that he owned over to my mother and uncle. The papers came in the mail for him to sign 2 days after his death.

Hello. I am sorry for the loss of your grandfather. In certain very limited circumstances, your grandfather's intentions may be important in a court of law.
