If my friend’s ex-girlfriend is in jail and pregnant with twins that will be born during her sentence, what can he do to make sure he gets custody?

My friend eally wants custody of the twins that will be born in jail. The mother has lost all of her previous children to the state and is telling him that her mother will be taking the twins when they’re born. What can he do to make sure paternity is established and that he gets custody of his children? What steps can he take now, before they are born, if any?

What he can do now is to get an attorney who can be ready to file a petition to establish parentage when the children are born as well as a petition for temporary custody pending a hearing on the issue. Good luck.
